TERMS & CONDITIONS – OVERSEAS SHIPMENTS
Bradley’s Antique Packing Services Ltd and Bradley’s Furniture Carriers Ltd
1. Definitions
“Company” means Bradley’s Antique Packing Services Ltd and Bradley’s Furniture Carriers
Ltd. “Client” means the person or entity instructing the Company. “Goods” means antiques, fine
art, furniture, or related items. “Services” means packing, crating, handling, storage, shipping,
and logistics coordination. “Carrier” means any third-party courier, airline, shipping line, freight
forwarder, or agent.
2. Scope of Services
The Company provides specialist packing, crating, and logistics coordination for overseas
shipments. Unless expressly agreed in writing, the Company acts as agent only and does not
act as a common or contractual carrier. All transit times, routes, and delivery dates are
estimates only and are not guaranteed.
3. Client Obligations
The Client warrants legal ownership or authority to ship the Goods, accuracy of descriptions,
values, and condition, and compliance with all export and import laws including CITES or
cultural property restrictions. The Client is responsible for customs documentation, licences,
duties, taxes, and destination charges.
4. Packing & Crating
The Company provides professional museum-grade packing appropriate to the information
supplied. Packing reduces but does not eliminate risk. Wooden cases comply with ISPM-15
heat-treatment standards where required.
5. Liability
Liability for loss or damage arising from negligence is limited to the lower of the declared value
accepted in writing or £25,000 per shipment and shall not exceed any amount recoverable
under insurance. No liability is accepted for third-party carriers, delays, inherent fragility,
pre-existing condition, or indirect or consequential loss.
6. Delivery
All overseas deliveries are kerbside delivery only unless inside delivery is requested in advance
and agreed in writing, subject to an additional charge. Delivery dates are estimates only.
7. Customs & Border Delays
The Company is not responsible for customs inspections, seizures, incorrect documentation, or
import restrictions. Any resulting storage, demurrage, or re-delivery charges are payable by the
Client.
8. Claims
Loss or damage must be noted immediately upon delivery and reported in writing within 48
hours. Packaging must be retained for inspection.
9. Payment
All invoices are payable prior to shipment unless otherwise agreed. The Company reserves the
right to retain Goods until payment is received.
10. Cancellation
Cancellations after work has commenced will be charged on a time and materials basis.
Bespoke cases and materials are non-refundable once work has begun.
11. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its reasonable
control.
12. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction
of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Acceptance
By instructing either Bradley’s Antique Packing Services Ltd or Bradley’s Furniture Carriers Ltd,
the Client confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions.
